Delta visitors should be aware that there are parking issues that are beginning to be addressed.
Since the Delta is a multi use area, we do get many horse trailers. The parking lot has multiple stalls dedicated to trailer parking. These locations are clearly marked on the pavement as “Trailer Parking Only”, and must be left for that purpose.
Additionally, No Parking restrictions have been added along the perimeter of the parking lot. This is necessary not only for trailer access and the need to allow adequate maneuvering space, but also as a fire break, and to provide adequate access for emergency vehicles.
The Forest Service has begun placing warnings on vehicles parked illegally in these locations. It’s uncertain when citations will be issued, but likely tickets will be given in the future.
Please be aware of this, and allow space for these vehicles. There is adequate movement through the parking lot that with a short wait, a parking location should open within a few minutes as others leave.
