The first of two volunteer tree planting events will occur this coming Saturday, November 9th at 9:00 AM. The event is hosted by the Friends of Trees in conjunction with the Sandy River Basin Watershed Council among other sponsors.
The planting will be along a stretch of the Confluence trail Northeast of the parking lot.
If you’re interested in Volunteering you can contact the Friends of Trees at their website http://www.friendsoftrees.org/.
The organizers are expecting 60-80 volunteers at this point, so if you are visiting the Delta, you may want to consider not using the Confluence trail for the morning. It is expected that most volunteers will be coming by carpool, and in some cases by bus, but this event still may take a number of parking spots. We are working on relocating volunteer parking, but please be aware the parking lot may be more full than normal for this time of year.
If you’re a dog walker at the Delta, and are considering volunteering, you may want to consider whether or not to bring your dog. If your pet is well behaved, it is probably OK, but it may be necessary to have it leashed.
