Friends of Trees will be leading another tree planting event at the Delta this upcoming Saturday (November 8th) scheduled from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. They are anticipating the possibility of 100 volunteers so we will be parking those involved with the event near the corral to save room for regular visitors.
If you are interested in volunteering, please visit the Friends of Trees site Event Calendar for November 8th for more information.
From the Friends of Trees post:
Please arrive around 8:45am to be registered and assigned to a crew. The event will start promptly at 9:00am. We provide breakfast snacks and hot chocolate/coffee, as well as gloves, tools and guidance. Please come dressed for the weather and wearing sturdy shoes and get ready to have fun! Looking to volunteer as a group? RSVPs are kindly requested for groups of more than 5 people. RSVPs are not required for groups of 4 or less. Please contact Jenny or Ian at (503) 595-0213 if you have any questions or need more information. We look forward to seeing you out there! Friends of Trees is excited to be planting at the Sandy River Delta again! We are partnering with the Sandy River Basin Watershed Council and Friends of the Sandy River Delta with support from East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District, the US Forest Service, PGE’s Habitat Fund, and the Jubitz Foundation. This event is generously sponsored by Daimler, Portland Trail Blazers and Port of Portland.
