As users are already aware, a portion of the Meadow Trail looping to the Eastern section of the Delta has been detoured since August to accommodate a wetlands restoration project.
The excavation and grading work intended to restore natural water incursion into this area is now complete, and the trail detour is now removed.
The trail is intended to be restored to it’s original location, with the exception of a short section expected to be seasonally under water. However, with the new surface work, and lack of new growth so far, the newly graded area will be too wet and muddy to establish a trail.
Because of this, we are reestablishing the trail to run along the North edge of the excavated area to hopefully provide a walkable surface just inside the remaining grass. From under the powerlines, the trail will now veer more directly northward toward or around the small grove of trees, and then loop back east where it will rejoin the old trail alignment.
It is expected that the contractor will have flagged out the new trail at the time of this post. If not, please be aware of this new route.
