It’s Tax time, and you can help our volunteers
The “Friends of the Sandy River Delta” is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of volunteers and users of the Delta working to keep the Delta usable clean, and safe for all users.
We manage the dog-waste cans, pick up litter, and maintain the trails in the area. This last year, we were successful in cleaning a tremendous amount of trash from the illegal campsites along the Sandy River and more importantly were successful in getting law enforcement to begin regular enforcement to address the situation. We also laid down over 60 tons of stone on trails in our continuing effort to improve the trail surfaces.
With the ongoing land restoration work (done by other organizations), we are far behind where we want to be with trail improvement, but we plan on chipping away. It does take money to buy the stone, even though the work is free.
We are a user oriented organization, and what we do is funded with donations from visitors like you. 100% of the donations go to maintenance and recreational projects at the Delta with the exception of small amounts for website hosting and other minimal fees.
In the coming year, we will be continuing with trail work (though we no longer have a reliable source of stone). We will also be removing some of the barbed wire that was uncovered by the landscape restoration groups. Of course, our most dedicated volunteers will continue to haul out the filled trash cans along the trail system (it is clearly time to retire some of the weather worn cans too).
If you support and appreciate our efforts at the Delta, please consider an end-of-year tax-deductible donation to our Organization. Even small amounts help.
