An update to the previous post. We’ve been informed that even volunteer activities at the Delta are required to cease as a result of the federal budget impasse. This means that we are not even able to manage the trash cans.
As a result, it is more important than ever that Delta users provide their own bags, pick up after their dogs, and yes, pack it off-site.
Remember, it is volunteer users that manage the trash cans, and haul the bags of dog waste back to the dumpster. It is our volunteers that will have to pick up the accumulated bags after the shutdown. Please consider this before you leave your bags in the cans.
Hi all,
As many of you have heard, our friends in Washington DC have managed to shut down the government. Since the Delta is part of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, and is administered by the Forest Service, some services will be on hold until DC is back in business.
This will impact the Delta in two ways. We will not get the dog-i-pot bags restocked. There is a small stock on-site, but it is a small stock, and will run out quickly. so PLEASE, consider bringing your own bags, and if you can, you may want to pack it out and dispose of your pets waste off-site.
Secondly, servicing of the toilet will also be delayed, so if it can wait, please use off-site facilities.
