Being from a place that has a winter, I tend to take the opportunity to explore when the weather turns white…
On Friday, I took the opportunity to visit the Delta as Portland was all but shut down.  At the inlet to the new channel where the dam has been removed, there was a curious rock.  On closer look, it turned out to be a beached, and well frozen (and frozen-in) sturgeon.  I suspect this isn’t like the proverbial frozen goldfish that will reanimate once thawed…
Anyway, you may want to watch your dog in this area when the weather starts to warm.  I suspect as this snow melts, the water will rise, and wash the fish away, but if not, a large fish is going to get pretty rancid.
